Alaskan Woman Punches Bear In The Nose And Saves Her Dog

When I think of Alaska, snow comes to mind.  And black bears...and that movie about the crazy guy who wanted to live with bears in Alaska and ended up getting eaten by them.  So if I ever saw one I would just pretend I was dead.  Not Brooke Collins, who may be responsible for the most heroic dog rescue ever.

In what began as a normal evening for the heroic 22-year-old woman, she let her dogs out as usual so they could take care of some business. Immediately a black bear took hold of her adorable dachshund Fudge. Instantly, Brooke sprang into action, raced over and punched the bear right in the nose to make it let go of her pooch.

 "It was all so fast.  All I could think about was my dog was going to die," said Collins.

"It was a stupid thing but I couldn't help it." she said.  "I know you're not supposed to do that but I didn't want my dog to be killed."

 I guess there was something too that Sarah Palin grizzlie momma thing after all.
