Callie the rough pup was a puppy mill mom we took her away from that life she’s coming along slowly, she’s so sweet tempered but she looks like a Ragamuffin 10 minutes after being groomed so she looks all hagerty for most of the day.
And then there’s Abby She’s been with us since she was 6 weeks old and spoiled R O T T E N, I can’t wait till Callie gets that way…;^B

Police dog relieved of dutyThe supervisors of a western Pennsylvania township have relieved a police dog of his duties because he bit a 9-year-old girl off duty. The dog’s handler will be given the option of buying him for $1 and keeping him as a pet. If the officer passes, others will get a chance to buy the dog for $1. Township officials say the dog will not be destroyed.

Veterinary college will offer free eye exams for service dogsFor a third consecutive year, the Virginia Maryland-Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech will join with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and Merial Inc. and participate in the Service Dog Eye Exam Month this May.

North Shore Animal LeagueOn March 24, 2010, North Shore Animal League America played a vital role in the rescue of 54 small breed dogs that were saved from a Midwest puppy mill.

ABCTammy Kassis’ trio of 4-pound dogs have an 11-foot tall Victorian mansion with its own turret, vaulted ceiling and television. They enjoy heating and air conditioning to stay comfortable year-round…Dog mansions can be extreme and expensive with amenities like plumbing, chandeliers, crown molding, closets, designer paint and wallpaper, patios, yards and fences. For hers, Kassis turned to Alan Mowrer, architect to some of the world’s most pampered dogs.

Northern IowanThe Cedar Bend Humane Society recently took in 36 dogs that were seized from a dog breeding facility near Nashua.

Sandra Bullock has more crazy people and canine problems – Apparently, a woman from a pet service called “Super Shmuttle” accidentally hit her van tires on Bullock’s curb and one of them is now flat. The problem? The woman is absolutely crazy. Photographers reportedly tried to help the woman change her tire, but she asked them to back off and shouted insults, “F*** the paparazzi! This is SO intrusive. I’m very frustrated. I’m going to be late!”
The woman reportedly has at least a dozen of dogs in her back trunk too! She locked herself in the car and is apparently waiting for someone she knows to come help her out.

ohmidog!Friends of the Animals, a non-profit group in North Carolina chaired by NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his wife, plans to build a 1.5-acre no-kill animal and education center on the shore of Lake Norman in Iredell. The center, which will include a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, will be in the planned $800 million Langtree at the Lake community off Interstate 77, according to Thatsracin.com. Friends of the Animals hopes the center will open within two years. The animal sanctuary will house 60 cats and 90 dogs that will be available for adoption.

Action Jackson is the little terror of the Extreme Canine Stunt Dog Shows. He is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Dog Trainer Chris Perondi adopted him from an organization that is now called “Hope for Paws.” Jackson made a big appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2008 doing his famous trick: the “Paw Stand”.
